2020 Medjugorje Spring

Medjugorje is the destination that might be described as the center of the world for those of us who believe that Our Blessed Mother is appearing here. We'll have the opportunity to attend Mirjana's monthly public apparition on April 2, at the Blue Cross on Apparition Hill, where it is said Our Lady provides a message for the world. Mirjana said that Mary blesses all holy objects brought by pilgrims.

We'll be staying at Pansion Drajicevik which is within a few yards of Apparition Hill. Our Host, Mr. Drajicevik, is the brother of Ivan who is one of the six visionaries. Mirjana, Ivan, and Jacov live next door, or a just few houses away from our hotel. We're in the hub of where everything started.

St. James Church is a 15 minute walk away, through the fields. There, several masses are said each day, and there are times for prayer, adoration and confession in one of the dozens of confessionals. A short walk will bring you through the outdoor stations of the cross to the Risen Christ Statue, which is known to exude a fluid from the right knee quite frequently. There are dozens of shops with very reasonable prices for sacramentals, such as rosaries, statues, holy cards etc. and several restaurants too.

We will climb Apparition Hill and Cross Mountain (Mt. Krizevac). At the top of this mountain is a very large concrete cross, built in the 1930's by the villagers to commemorate the 1900th anniversary of the death and resurrection of Jesus.

Our guide, Marija Pervan, will provide options for touring various places of interest. As we will have multiple vans for our use, time and interest permitting, we may take side trips to sites like Tihaljina, Mostar, Mother's Village Orphanage, etc.. The Cenacolo Community is located within a 10 minute walk from our hotel. And, Patrick and Nancy's castle is worth visiting just to hear Patrick's incredible conversion story.

But the real attraction in Medjugorje is the Peace. Some describe it as "something in the air", but it's very real. It's a place where heaven touches earth.

In the old city of Dubrovnik, we may visit the grave and Church of St. Blaise, bishop and martyr. His feast day is Feb. 3 when we traditionally have our throats blessed. We'll also enjoy a fancy hotel with a swimming pool and views of the Adriatic Sea.
