Terms of Use

Effective 13 September 2026.

These terms cover this website and the UniteTrip app (together, "the service"), which are operated by UniteTrip (Ken Paulsen, United States) for the organizations that run trips on it. By creating an account, signing in, or registering for a trip you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

Who does what

UniteTrip runs the software. Each trip is organized and delivered by the organization named on the trip (for example a parish, a tour group or a ministry), which sets its own prices, deadlines and cancellation rules and is your contract partner for the trip itself. Questions about a trip, a payment or a refund go to that organization first; its contact details are on its site and in the app.

Your account

  • You must be at least 13 years old to hold an account. A family manager may create profiles for family members who are younger, and is responsible for them.
  • Keep your sign-in details private and tell us if you think someone else has used your account.
  • Give accurate information. Travel documents (such as passport details) are collected only when a trip needs them and are used only for that trip.

Acceptable use and community rules

Trip chat, photos and comments exist so a group can travel well together. There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour. You may not post anything that is:

  • harassing, threatening, hateful, or discriminatory;
  • sexually explicit, violent, or otherwise obscene;
  • someone else's personal information shared without their consent;
  • spam, advertising, or unlawful content, or content you do not have the right to share.

Photos you upload may be seen by everyone on the trip. Upload only pictures you took or have permission to share, and be considerate about photographing others.

Moderation: reporting, blocking, and what happens next

  • Report. Every message, photo and comment can be reported from the app. Reports go to the trip's organizers and to UniteTrip, and are reviewed within 24 hours.
  • Block. You can block any person; their messages, photos and comments are then hidden from you, and they cannot mention you. They are not told.
  • Action. Organizers and UniteTrip may remove content, mute a person, remove them from a chat, or close an account that breaks these rules, without notice where the behaviour is serious.
  • Some words are filtered automatically; a message containing them is refused when you send it.

Payments

Payments made through the service are for real-world travel services (trip fees, deposits and similar) delivered by the organization running the trip. Card and PayPal details are handled by PayPal; UniteTrip never sees your card number. Refunds and cancellations follow the organization's rules for that trip.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time in the app (Settings → Account → Delete Account). Deletion is immediate and permanent: your sign-in, profile, messages, photos and comments are erased and cannot be recovered. Records of your trip registrations and payments are kept by the organization for its accounting, with your name and contact details removed. While you are registered for a trip that has not yet ended, or owe a balance, the app will first ask you to settle or withdraw with the organization so that nobody is left with an unexplained gap in a roster or a ledger.

Content and licence

You keep ownership of what you post. You give the trip's organization and UniteTrip permission to show it within the service to the people on that trip, and to keep it as long as your account exists. Organizations may use trip photos in their own communications only where their site says so.

Availability and liability

The service is provided as is. We work to keep it available and correct, but we cannot promise it will be free of interruptions or errors, and we are not responsible for the trips themselves, which are delivered by the organizations that run them. To the extent the law allows, UniteTrip's liability for any claim arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid UniteTrip for it, which is nothing: the service is free to travellers.

Changes

We may update these terms; the effective date above changes when we do. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the new terms. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, United States.
